Hyejung Baik, born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, holds a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance, graduating Cum Laude, and a Master of Music from Hanyang University. She also studied at Kyoto City University of Arts as a MEXT scholarship recipient. In 2024, she completed Professional Studies Certificates in Flute and Piccolo at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, studying with Catherine Payne, flutist and piccoloist of the San Francisco Symphony.

Her honors include first prizes at the Korean Youth Music Competition, Russia Far East International Competition, and Korean American Youth Cultural Foundation Competition, as well as the Presidential Citation for Excellence from Hanyang University. As a member of a woodwind quintet selected for the Kumho Young Artist program, she performed a recital at Kumho Art Hall.

Hyejung began her professional orchestral career with Guri Philharmonic Orchestra and performed as a guest flutist and piccoloist with leading orchestras in Korea, including Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Seongnam Philharmonic Orchestra, Korean Symphony Orchestra, Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra, and Chungju Philharmonic Orchestra.

Now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Hyejung performs actively with local ensembles. She is a member of the Fernweh Chamber Orchestra in Los Angeles and serves as a regular substitute flutist and piccoloist with Stockton Symphony. She previously taught music at Coastline Christian School and continues to maintain a private flute studio.

Outside of music, she enjoys running, playing golf, cooking, and traveling with her husband and daughters.
